After breakfast at your Lake Toya resort, travel to Mt. Usu, an active volcano on the southern side of the lake. Enjoy a guided hike through restricted areas normally closed to the public, where you’ll learn about the volcanic forces that shaped Lake Toya and explore landscapes altered by the 2000 eruption and mudslides. Your guide will share insights into Japan’s advanced disaster monitoring and mitigation systems.
Later, visit Lake Hill Farm for a relaxed farm experience, including lunch, a tour of the grounds, and a taste of their famous homemade gelato made from fresh local ingredients.
Return to your resort in the afternoon to relax before dinner. In the evening, enjoy another spectacular fireworks display over Lake Toya.
