Safari! About The Kruger National Park Area!
Learn about the history of safari and get to know "The Big 5" while visiting Kruger National Park. Participate in several eye-opening game drives, including a walking safari to take you up close and personal to the animals. Kruger National Park is South Africa's largest game reserve and offers a wildlife experience that ranks one of the best in the world. The diversity, density, and sheer numbers of animals are almost unparalleled, and all of Africa's iconic safari species – elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and zebra – live out their dramatic days here, along with a supporting cast of 137 other mammals and over 500 varieties of birds. It provides sanctuary for all the country's endangered species. Terrain ranges from savanna lands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests, and visitors have the choice of game drives or guided walk safaris as a means of experiencing the park and its creatures.
One of the greatest attractions in Africa and one of the “7 Wonders of the World” Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty located almost along the halfway point of the Zambezi River, between Zambia and Zimbabwe. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered to be the world’s largest waterfall, based on its combined width of 5,604 feet and height of 354 feet.
Also, known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, the smoke that thunders, Victoria Falls can be heard from 25 miles, while its columns of spray and mist can be seen as far away as 31 miles. This geological spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe as it lies on the two countries borders. Victoria Falls has a natural catwalk across from the falls on the Zimbabwean side which provides for clear viewing. The catwalk trail is dotted with written information which acquaints viewers with the geomorphological facts on the falls. When visiting the falls, one is sure to get drenched in water somewhere along the trail, especially in high season, as the spray from the falls rises to a height of over 1 300 feet and is visible from up to 30 miles away. Another way of viewing the falls is from the air in a helicopter that has bubble-shaped windows that are specially designed to make for good panoramic viewing. Participants who are interested in this may communicate this with the local facilitator to make an arrangement for an additional fee to be paid locally.

Carbon Removal: According to the State of Global Carbon Dioxide Removal Report by University of Oxford, natural methods of removing carbon from the atmosphere are not enough by themselves due to the amount of pollution currently in the atmosphere. Innovations in removing and permanently storing carbon emissions are needed to conserve nature and reverse the course toward further climate change.
Tomorrow’s Air: Global Family Travels is passionate about encouraging tourism that is not only sustainable but regenerative. To help with our mission, we seek to partner with like-minded brands such as Tomorrow’s Air, which operates within the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
Tomorrow’s Air is a collective of carbon removal innovators that work to permanently remove and store carbon from the atmosphere. Travel is a large contributor to global emissions, and we feel it is important to educate and empower travelers to support efforts that combat climate change! Therefore, as of January 2024, Global Family Travels will include a $25 contribution to Tomorrow’s Air into every trip. Clients may opt out of the $25 donation by emailing us to request its removal from your invoice.
